A WHITE PAPER ABOUT WOUND CARE POST PLASTIC SURGERY
Data show that plastic surgery is increasingly popular in the United States, the current pandemic notwithstanding. Numerous factors have contributed to the rise in popularity of plastic surgery, including the fact that the cost has decreased at the same time as plastic surgeons’ technological expertise has increased.
A variety of intersecting factors contribute to complications after plastic surgery. The surgeon’s experience with the procedure, the surgical technique used, the length of the surgery, the patient’s tobacco use, the patient’s body mass index, the patient’s underlying health conditions— these are just a small sampling of the many factors that can affect patients’ post-operative outcomes. Some of these factors can be controlled for, whereas others cannot.
This paper is written for wound care clinicians and purchasing directors with an interest in product solutions.
