We’ve all seen the photos of the PPE related skin injuries. Prolonged wear and the need for a super tight fit translate to pressure related injuries leaving skin raw, bruised, and covered in welts. When this all began we advised our caregivers that applying a piece of tape along the pressure points where the mask makes contact would not only reduce friction, but the zinc-oxide in the adhesive would help sooth the already irritated skin.
